Louise's Utopia: Open for business!

Updated: Nov 17

Yesterday, we received a good amount of perennials and ornamental grasses, a first-time shipment for Coteau Valley Farm and Nursery! We are officially- “open” at the Nursery! It is a crude beginning, but extremely exciting, we do not even have a sign! I do not know if we have begun with a little or a lot. I guess the feeling of thankfulness has glossed over the reality that it may be a tiny Nursery. We are really satisfied with the plants, which are healthy and beautiful. The entire process from the beginning of ordering the plants, to the final shipment, went perfectly. We could not have picked a better Wholesale provider, what a blessing they were to Coteau Valley Farm and we will definitely keep working with them. The first thing after opening the Nursery is we need to construct a makeshift sign for the place at the end of the road. The new entry gate is not up yet so the new sign cannot be hung either, therefore we will be making a temporary sign! I kind of like the idea of a humble sign and not so many visitors at first. There is something nice about being small and unknown and enjoying the satisfaction of the beginning stages of a work in progress, a new project. Still, the place looks amazing, the views are spectacular at the farm and the air is wonderfully welcoming and relaxing. I think it would be nice, perhaps brilliant, to get a beautiful horse to welcome visitors who come to the farm to buy trees or perennials in the future. I see families coming for a nice tree or plant and being welcomed by a dancing horse, or two, three… in the field. Maybe the horse's name could be “Perennial” she could be the face of the persistent, enduring hope of this farm. I am really excited about gardens covered in flowers and bees and butterflies and birds floating in the breeze. If you are in need of some flowers or ornamental grass, please come to Coteau Valley Farm Nursery, maybe we have something you could use or maybe we could catch up on the news. I hope to soon start planting too and have my own amazingly gorgeous and relaxing garden for you to enjoy and get ideas from for your own space. It's Spring on the Coteau and there is no place more beautiful to live! Please come by and get a plant we also have numerous trees in the ground and in buckets! It's really an exciting time on the farm, do you agree, y'all come now!
