Has there ever been a time in your gardening life when, upon grabbing a shovel to dig, the handle splits in two? Well, I have had this happen to me a time or two. I am always really upset about it. One reason I am miffed is that I feel like I just lost fifty bucks on a shovel. Another is that I do not want to take the time to replace a handle on a shovel. It is time-consuming. Furthermore, the repair parts are just as cheaply made as the original shovel. I also know that when I buy another shovel, it too will split in half. But I need a shovel! All of this circular nonsense happened to me until the glorious day I found the shovel pictured above. Don't worry, I am not getting paid for a persuasive sales pitch. This shovel is actually the bomb. I've had it for some time, and it hasn't broken on me, at least not yet!
Allow me to tell you why I love the Bulldog shovel. I'll also explain why you ought to have one in your shed for all your digging needs. First, the handle is durable and has held up well. I have dug hundreds of holes for trees on the farm with this shovel, and it has never snapped in half. It also has a shorter length to it and is easy to leverage in the ground to get a good dig. The open handle on it is useful for getting a good grip when wearing gloves or bare-handed. It makes shoveling many holes easy and a lot less work.
The second reason is that the shovel is lightweight. The Bulldog shovel is not this monster-heavy object that needs to be lugged through the fields like a draft horse pulling a plow would. It is insubstantial and easy to haul to and from all your dig sites. I also like the color, a nice green.
Third, the shovel head has a long steel extension that goes up the handle. This is probably the reason that it does not snap in half like all of the other shovels I've used.
The one drawback of this shovel is finding one to buy locally. I have not personally seen one in any big-box stores. It's best to purchase this shovel online. It is no more costly than the junk found in other hardware stores. Your bulldog shovel will take some time to arrive in the US. They are made in the UK. The shovel is definitely worth the wait, though. I order all my tools from Bulldog now. I will never order another shovel from anywhere else again, signed and dated, today. Happily, I will not have to, as it is built to last and actually does just that.
So, if you're searching for a really high-quality tool to accomplish your various garden jobs. Get a Bulldog. It should also bring you comfort in knowing that I mean what I say. This is a good shovel. I know. Sales pitches can be annoying, but the good news is this isn't one. This is good advice for a decent shovel that will not need to be replaced. If you're tired of your shovel and exhausted from paying high costs for junk? Look into Bulldog garden tools.
